Becoming safely embodied: Body-mind approaches to working with complex post-traumatic stress
Description
This conference presentation abstract summarizes a workshop that introduces applications of somatic therapies that are easily integrated into EMDR, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic treatments. When, where, and how therapist and patient might make use of these techniques are discussed and the potential risks and benefits of including these modalities in the therapeutic "tool kit" are examined.
