Unconsolidated sensory triggers and desensitization: running the tape; Running the tape with triggers that occur after processing; Script for running the tape to identify and process unconsolidated sensory triggers
Description
Based on clinical observation over many years, this author has found that processing an event using the Standard EMDR Protocol may leave effect-laden sensory material associated with the event unprocessed. The initial observation came from the treatment of a Vietnam veteran who reported being triggered by a noise following the completed processing of a combat trauma. Initial work developed into two different uses of running a tape to look for arousal. {Excerpt]
