EMDR: A new OCD protocol

Description

OCD is described and current recognised treatment approaches are outlined. Existing literature regarding the treatment of OCD with EMDR is reviewed. Theories about the aetiology of OCD are described in relation to the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and a rationale for the use of EMDR is described. A protocol for the use of EMDR in treating OCD is explained. Finally two case studies are described in order to illustrate the proposed protocol.
