Deepening EMDR treatment effects in the clinical treatment of dissociative disorders: Integrating EMDR technique, ego-state therapy and developmental blueprinting

Description

This conference presentation abstract summarizes a workshop that addresses EMDR treatment for dissociative disorders by integrating EMDR technique, ego-state therapy and developmental blueprinting. Diagnostic and treatment considerations are presented as necessary prerequisites for successful work with apparent EMDR non-responders. Different applications of shorter versus longer term EMDR are presented. Developmental blueprinting is offered as an aid in the choice of EMDR targets and cognitions. The range of dissociative phenomena is examined in both traumatized and non-PTSD individuals. Internal conflict resolution via focus on the integrative interaction among discrete inner selves is addressed.
