A window into the black box: Subletites of EMDR processing

Description

EMDR processing can seem like a black box, a process that mysteriously results in healing. Client’s often spontaneously use the word, “magic.” As clinicians, we are gratified by the results, and may not be so interested in specifically what caused EMDR to be effective in a particular session, except when it wasn’t. That’s when we need to know what is going on in that black box so that we can fix it. This presentation uses video segments of five EMDR sessions to illustrate how to think about EMDR processing and get it back on track when it’s not working.
