Clinical Population – Complex PTSD
• Most have experienced chronic interpersonal victimization as children as well as chronic neglect and deprivation; acts of commission coupled with acts of omission.
• Most (80%) have co-‐morbid symptoms in addition to re-‐ experiencing, avoidance, and hyperarousal (PTSD), and often qualify for other psychiatric diagnoses.
• Most have experienced significant disruptions in attachment (caregivers who were unpredictable, rejecting, unavailable, frightened, or frightening). [Excerpt]
