EMDR theory to practice: Addressing challenges to integration

Description

Research suggests that many newly trained EMDR therapists feel deskilled, disempowered and unsupported following their basic training and struggle to transform the theory into their own particular practice. This pre-conference workshop is aimed at practitioners who are newly trained or less confident in practising EMDR. The session will cover the process of integration, highlighting frequent challenges to this, identifying how existing skills and different theoretical backgrounds can be integrated into EMDR practice and managing common difficulties within the 8 phase protocol.
