Description
L'odontophobie toucherait 5% de la population mais ce chiffre est incertain car l'attitude d'évitement domine. Cette phobie spécifique représente un véritable " handicap invisible " pour les patients atteints dont la santé bucco-dentaire se détériore. Ce travail propose une description de l'odontophobie et des prises en charge, surtout mises en place Outre Atlantique et dans les pays Scandinaves. Dans un premier temps, la description du patient odontophobe permet de comprendre et d'évaluer la problématique. Les différents moyens de prise en charge sont développés dans une deuxième partie (méthodes corporelles et de relaxation, psychothérapies comportementales et cognitives, EMDR, approche psychodynamique et l'hypnose). La dernière partie propose une discussion sur les prises en charge envisageables. Une réflexion sur la situation actuelle en France suggère une proposition pour le système hospitalier.
The dental phobia affects 5% of the population, but this figure is uncertain because the evasive attitude prevails. This specific phobia is a real "invisible disability" for patients whose oral health is deteriorating. This work proposes a description of the dental phobia and supported, especially in place across the Atlantic and the Scandinavian countries. At first, the description of dental phobi patient can understand and assess the problem. The various means of support are developed in a second part (body and relaxation methods, behavioral and cognitive psychotherapy, EMDR, hypnosis and psychodynamic approach). The last section provides a discussion of the possible load taken. A reflection on the current situation in France suggests a proposal for the hospital system.
