EMDR in forensic treatment

Description

Some forensic patients meet the diagnostic criteria of PTSD or DESNOS. Traumata may be a biographical pattern in forensic patients` life history or forensic patients may suffer from PTSD caused form their offences as well. The conditions of inprisonment in forensic psychiatry may be another cause for PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may prevent delict-reconstruction and block empathy for the victims, both is crucial for the "Langenfelder Forensic Treatment." Case vignettes are presentet to illustrate how EMDR is part of forensic psychotherapy and legal prediction.
