EMDR with adjustment disorder

Description

To prove the effectiveness of EMDR in treatment of adjustment disorder and to compare EMDR Treatment with common techniques, 180 patients with tested adjustment disorder (ADNM, IES-R) were randomized to three groups: A. EMDR treatment; B. Behavioral Therapy; C. Family medicine setting including medication. Results were checked after a three and a six months period, in Group A (EMDR) also after 12 months (IES-R, WHOQOL-BREF, ADNM-6). EMDR proved to be effective in treatment of adjustment disorder. EMDR proved to be superior to behavioral therapy regarding expense and patients satisfaction. Family medicine setting including medication turned out not to be sufficient. It turned out, that stress related psychotherapy is necessary.
