EMDR en contexte: Thérapie pour l’enfant et la famille EMDR in context: Therapy for the child and family

Ma présentation portera sur l’intégration de la thérapie EMDR et de la thérapie familiale dans le cadre de la prise en charge du traitement des situations traumatiques complexes concernant les enfants. Un protocole d’intervention thérapeutique intégrant les dimensions synchroniques ou relationnelles et diachroniques ou individuelles sera discuté pour prendre en compte à la fois la ou les blessures individuelles de l’enfant ou d’autres membres de la famille et la blessure du lien. L‘adaptation du protocole standard en fonction du niveau de développement de l’enfant, le fonctionnement familial au travers des notions d’attachement et la notion de régulation émotionnelle seront explicités par des exemples cliniques. Cette intégration des deux paradigmes linéaire/EMDR et circulaire/thérapie familiale permettant ainsi de développer une approche thérapeutique complexe, au sens décrit par Edgard Morin en 1995 comme « ce qui est tissé ensemble ….. et non pas mis bout à bout » pour répondre à la complexité des situations traumatiques avec les enfants.
Objectifs d’apprentissage
1. Les participants acquerront une vision clinique plus large leur permettant de penser la thérapie EMDR pour enfants comme un élément s’intégrant dans un contexte thérapeutique complexe.
2. Les participants vont augmenter la capacité à tisser de façon congruente les éléments synchroniques et diachroniques dans la mise en place d’un plan de traitement.
3. Les participants vont augmenter leur capacité d’adapter le protocole standard dans une perspective développementale pour répondre au niveau du développement de l’enfant et pour l’intégration de la perspective familiale dans le traitement individuel de l’enfant.
My presentation will focus on the integration of EMDR and family therapy in the case of treatment of complex traumatic situations concerning children. A therapeutic response protocol integrating synchronic or relational and diachronic or individual dimensions will be discussed in order to account for both personal trauma of the child or other family members and relational trauma. The adaptation of the standard protocol according to the level of development of the child, the family functioning through attachment concepts and the concept of emotional regulation will be explained by clinical examples. This integration of the two paradigms linear/EMDR and circular/family therapy allows to develop a complex therapeutic approach in the sense described by Edgar Morin in 1995 as “that which is woven together ... and not put end to end” to meet the complexity of traumatic situations with children.
Learning objectives
1. The participants will acquire a larger clinical vision allowing them to conceive EMDR therapy for children as an integrating element in a complex therapeutic context.
2. The participants will improve their ability to interweave congruently synchronic and diachronic elements in the development of a treatment plan.
3. The participants will improve their ability to adapt the standard protocol in a developmental perspective in order to respond to the child’s level of development and to integrate the family perspective in the individual treatment of the child.
