Integrating recent event protocols into your practice

Description

A variety of EMDR recent event protocols have been utilized with clients around the world. These protocols are most often used for natural and/or manmade disasters. Recent event protocols may also be creatively integrated into your practice in other circumstances. These protocols may be helpful to break an experience down and titrate it into more manageable processing for clients. Families who have had a shared overwhelming experience may also benefit from the use of a recent event protocol. Often clients have situations that arise in their life while in the midst of a specific treatment plan. Recent event protocols may give a client the ability to process a recent experience (in the midst of a treatment plan) while the therapist maintains adherence to the EMDR protocol.
