Oklahoma ranks 9th in nation for high suicide rates
Description
NTHS has three licensed counselors trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
“EMDR is one of the number one treatments for Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD),” Payne said. “Veterans are typically the ones who receive that treatment, but it can be used on anyone with PTSD. It’s mainly used for veterans because of their high rates of suicide.” [Excerpt]
