Approach of trauma attachment and dissociation in eating disorders with EMDR therapy

Description

Clinicians often struggle with understanding the functional dynamics of Eating Disorders (ED). To successfully treat ED with EMDR, clinicians must be able to identify two crucial aspects of the core issues underlying these disorders: defenses and dissociation. This presentation will offer principles and clinical strategies to identify and work through defenses and dissociative phobias to help clients connect and work with the hurt inner child. This presentation will provide practical schema and strategies as guidelines for understanding and working with these disorders from the AIP model.
