Incorporating "talking to the voice' in EMDR therapy

Description

An emerging literature describes the adaptation of EMDR to the treatment of individuals with auditory hallucinations, including those with dissociative and psychotic diagnoses. In this workshop, the presenters will describe an approach of ‘talking to the voices’ as it is used in the treatment of dissociative disorders, its extension to individuals with psychotic diagnoses, and then its potential integration into the first two phases of EMDR Therapy. Most of the workshop will focus on a detailed description of strategies and techniques, with a preliminary review of the relevant theory and literature. Videos will be shown to illustrate the techniques.
