EMDR therapy with emotionally focused therapy for traumatized couples

Description

The symptoms of posttraumatic stress not only bring distress to the one who experiences them, they also have a detrimental effect upon intimate relationships. Similarly, a conflictual or insecure relationship, may aggravate PTSD. Traumatized couples are often experiencing symptoms of posttraumatic stress and a conflicted relationship with their spouse. Integrating EMDR Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy may provide a brief therapy that effectively treats symptoms of PTSD, while enhancing marital satisfaction and attachment. Participants will be equipped to reduce the symptoms of posttraumatic stress, enhance marital satisfaction and attachment; and enrich the lives and relationships of traumatized couples.
