Treatment of EMDR and children's dissociation: "Don't come out of your mind!" The feelings that are unpleasant are important
Description
Mii Okawara (2013) presents a case study of a third-grade child to explore therapeutic strategies for dissociation using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Children who adapt through dissociative styles may react with resistance when bilateral stimulation breaks down their dissociative barriers, exposing them to threatening negative emotions.
