L’objet de cet article est d’expliciter la pertinence de l’EMDR, dans l’aide à la remédiation cognitive et affective d’étudiants, vis à vis des mathématiques. Près de 170 étudiants en Master 1 préparant le concours de « Professeur des Ecoles » ont été interrogés sur leur rapport aux mathématiques. Parmi ceux qui évoquaient un souvenir traumatique en situation d’apprentissage des mathématiques, quarante ont été sélectionnés et divisés en deux groupes, un groupe bénéficiant d’un traitement EMDR.<br /><br />The EMDR (Shapiro,1989) for Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing has demonstrated its effectiveness in the management of Post-traumatic stress states. In education Sciences, no studies have been developed until then in the application of the EMDR protocols. The purpose of this article is to explain the relevance of the EMDR, in helping the cognitive and emotional remediation of students, vis-à-vis mathematics. Nearly 170 students in Master 1 preparing the "Teacher of schools" competition were asked about their relationship to mathematics. Of those who evoked a traumatic memory in the learning situation of mathematics, forty were selected and divided into two groups, a group benefiting from EMDR treatment. After treatment, a significant decrease in negative emotions with respect to mathematics and an increase in the strength of the sense of personal efficacy was observed in the participants.
