The standard trauma-based EMDR protocol (Shapiro, 2001) has been reported effective for depressive disorders in a number of case and controlled studies; nevertheless, EMDR is not yet considered an evidence-based therapy for depression. More clinical trials are underway to determine its efficacy. This workshop presents an integrative therapy, TDD (Treating Depression Downhill)-EMDR (Krupnik, 2015), that was designed specifically for depressive disorders on the hypothesis that a greater specificity of a treatment may contribute to its efficacy.
