She initially started speaking with a mental health nurse before seeing a psychologist. Then, because her trauma was on the PTSD spectrum, a therapy called EMDR was offered. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and is all about bilateral stimulation of the brain. [Excerpt]
