Description

This workshop will present creative and innovative strategies for engaging young clients through telehealth while following the 8 phases of standard EMDR therapy. Beginning with a telehealth checklist, therapists will be guided through advanced skills in working with Pediatric EMDR therapy through telehealth at times necessitated by COVID19. Activities such as the "EMDR Scavenger Hunt - looking for yummy smells and creating shoebox containers" are just a few of the fun strategies presented. The participant will also be able to describe how to engage caregivers as collaterals in "Screen Pediatric EMDR therapy" with "the tapping lap," "Shake it Off," and other activities for BLS between children and caregivers. Therapists will also be taught how to use the whiteboard, pre-recorded videos, songs, and books to engage children presenting with a variety of symptoms.
