Flash Technique

Description

Flash is a recently developed technique that involves having the client access and activate the memory, and introduce corrective information, below the level of conscious awareness. Flash leads to a rapid reduction of memory-related distress, while only minimal (or no) distress is subjectively experienced. Clients who might have been otherwise unable to face the memory are reportedly able to do so; and speed of resolution may also be increased. The Flash technique is potentially a major development in trauma therapy. Preliminary research indicates its safety, efficiency, and effectiveness with nonclinical as well as clinical populations. In this workshop, theory and research will be summarized, then Flash will be taught and practiced.
