EMDR intervention to treat addiction and comorbid trauma
Description
The addiction epidemic has over 21.5 million U.S. residents over the age of 11 having a substance abuse problem. Of those, almost 2 million were addicted to prescription pain relievers, and another 586,000 to heroin. Moreover, four out of five heroin users reported beginning their heroin abuse while using prescription opiates. In 2012 alone, 259 million prescriptions were written for opioids. This 2-hour workshop, conducted by JoAnn Kutsukos, will address the primary concerns associated with providing effective treatment to treat addiction and comorbid trauma.
