De saccadevervangingshypothese voor EMDREMDR the saccade replacement hypothesis

Description

EMDR the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is the basis of a therapy with which people can make the effect of traumas on their daily lives manageable. The current theories of EMDR [1] consist ofexperimental and empirical knowledge-based conclusions. The saccade replacement hypothesis presented here is an alternative idea for explaining the results of EMDR therapy. It is the saccades, the jumps of the eye, that determine the place of attention in perception. Every traumatic experience consists of the combinations of shifting attention. It is the jumps to the details for attention that have the traumatic content. With the replacement of those jumps to the details, the traumatic memories are no longer activated, as a result, without that attention to the details, the emotions are no longer active.
