Using EMDR with young adults who have experienced a first episode of psychosis

Description

In this presentation I will provide a brief summary of some of the literature regarding EMDR with psychosis and highlight some of the recent developments in this field. I will then share some examples from my clinical practice, particularly focusing on my use of the R-TEP (Recent Traumatic Events Protocol) to help people who are in the early phases of recovery following their first episode and experiencing some post-trauma symptoms following their recent experiences of psychosis and treatment/services. I will also illustrate some different ways I have used the standard EMDR protocol with this client group and share some information about psychosis specific EMDR protocols. I will finish by providing some suggestions for further learning and useful resources.
