The secret keeper: Dissociative identity disorder: The reality of living with this disorder

Description

The Secret Keeper is an exhibition that is travelling to cities and towns around New Zealand and is a unique representation of the impact of trauma on an individual’s psyche. It demonstrates the fractures, the coping mechanisms and the helplessness in a way that words cannot describe and is a powerful educational tool for those who suffer from trauma, those who work to treat people with trauma and, indeed, anyone who struggles to understand how we are affected by trauma.

Working with the creator of this exhibition over the years has increased the therapist’s awareness of what to do and what not to do when trying to help a client with tertiary dissociation.
