Les blocages du traitementTreatment blockages
Description
The innate information processing system designed to overcome psychological distress linked to disturbing events is resolutely oriented towards the return to psychological homeostasis and good health; this system can, however, be undermined when the subject is exposed to a traumatic event (Shapiro, 2002, 2007) The activation of memory networks through the SBA during the desensitization and reprocessing phases promotes the drainage of the toxic elements contained in these networks and then their integration; “we can metaphorically imagine them as a series of channels where related memories, thoughts, images, emotions are stored and linked to each other” EMDR therapy reactivates the TAI which “…restores begins the process of digestion, during which awareness is made, the necessary associations are established, the person learns what is useful to him and the appropriate emotions are established. But it happens that in certain circumstances, the process therapeutic mobilized by the TAI during EMDR therapy loses its efficiency, or even stops: these blockages of the TAI mark an alteration in the capacities for metabolizing raw pathogenic information and always sign the failure of integration beneficial from all or part of the dysfunctional information. Occurring at different times during reprocessing and taking different forms at the end of therapy, blockages always carry the risk of a worsening of the psychopathological picture or/and a disengagement from the patient's therapeutic work if they are not identified and treated. by the clinician…
