Expanding the circle of healing: EMDR and innovative tools for secondary trauma
Description
Clinicians and caregivers are uniquely vulnerable to secondary trauma and compassion fatigue, which can erode well-being and professional effectiveness. This workshop offers an integrative framework to support clinicians in managing the ripple effects of trauma through EMDR therapy, acudetox, sound healing, and yoga. Participants will explore how EMDR can be tailored to address the unique challenges faced by helping professionals, enabling them to process their own secondary trauma. Acudetox, a straightforward auricular acupuncture method, provides a somatic tool for calming the nervous system and reducing stress. Sound healing, using therapeutic frequencies and vibrations, offers a powerful means to promote relaxation, emotional release, and nervous system regulation. Yoga further enhances self-care practices by fostering mindfulness, grounding, and resilience through movement and breathwork. This session equips clinicians with practical tools to manage their well-being and prevent burnout. By integrating these evidence-based and innovative practices into their self-care routines, attendees can cultivate resilience, emotional balance, and longevity in their professional and personal lives.
