Fluoxetine vs. prozac in PTSD: Preliminary analysis of psychological and psychophysiological changes following effective treatment

Description

This is a preliminary analysis of a study that seeks to compare the short term and long-term long term efficacy of two widely different treatment approaches in widespread use in clinical settings for treating patients with PTSD: the biologically based treatment and the psychological treatment Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), compared with a placebo control group. We will present differential responses of the first 50 completers in this study on 1) PTSD treatment effects, 2) changes in psychophysiology, including heart rate variability, 3) overall adjustment, including measures of quality of life.
