Future directions in EMDR training: A spectrum approach

Description

Next year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the development of EMDR. In this time EMDR has unquestionably come along way. In August 2013 EMDR was endorsed by the World Health Organisation as an effective, evidence based treatment for PTSD for both adults and children. This is without doubt a major boost for EMDR. But the level of criticism and hostility towards EMDR remains unabated. So where do we want EMDR to be in 25 years time? What changes need to be made? What developments need to occur? As we are mindful of ever increasing security issues around the world and the prevalence of natural disaster what part can EMDR play in this as a humanitarian endeavour and in relation to research and development? This presentation will explore some of these macro issues around EMDR past, present & future.
