EMDR in the treatment of military veterans

Description

This workshop provides guidance on using EMDR with military veterans. Included is information on the nature of military service, adjustments to EMDR often useful when working with military personnel and veterans, family issues influenced by military service, and suggestions on presenting EMDR to military individuals and authorities. Examined issues include sources of stress and trauma not commonly found in the civilian sector, the current operational environment and its effects on service members and their families, the potential complexity of military-based trauma, therapist issues, and presenting the case for EMDR while taking into account military culture and relevant EMDR research.
