Treatment of complex trauma: Clinical practice and treatment guidelines

Description

Clinical practice and treatment guidelines have been published or are under development for PTSD and its complex and dissociative variants. These are based on best research evidence, clinical consensus, and client preference and values. This keynote will focus on complex trauma and dissociative clients and the need for treatment sequencing. It will provide an overview of the treatment guidance that is currently available (a guide to guidelines) for these conditions and for classic forms of PTSD and will compare and contrast them. Since EMDR has a robust evidence base for the treatment of PTSD, its applicability across the phases of treatment and the spectrum of clinical conditions will be emphasized.
