Sensorimotor considerations in EMDR: Preparation and processing

Description

This workshop provides theoretical and practical support for expanding the role of the body in EMDR preparation, desensitization and reprocessing phases. For varied and understandable reasons, many traumatized clients have necessarily severed their relationship with the body. Can the body play a role in interfering with preparation efforts? Can we be confident in body scans? Could an informed inquiry into the body help shift a SUDS from 1-0? Information at the somatic level can be as important as emotion and cognition in trauma resolution. This workshop offers theoretical and practical support for greater inclusion of the body in EMDR treatment.
