EMDR recent-traumatic episode protocol (R-TEP): Applications in emergency situations

Description

The accessibility of EMDR therapy in emergency and disaster situations is limited by the shortage of trained clinicians available when large numbers of victims are involved. This workshop considers how EMDR can be made more available in these situations. New practical applications of the EMDR Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) are presented including the EMDR G-TEP (Group Traumatic Episode Protocol). Structured worksheet protocols are suggested that can be rapidly taught for use in emergency situations by EMDR clinicians and possibly non-EMDR trained Mental Health personnel. A hierarchical intervention strategy is proposed.
