A dialectical perspective in EMDR therapy - Theory and practice

Description

In this workshop the dialectical perspective in EMDR therapy is discussed theoretically and its clinical application shown in video demonstrations. The dialectical concepts will be discussed in relation to three basic interacting systems: the therapeutic relationship, Mindful Dual Awareness (MDA) and the AIP system. The dialectical perspective adds a developmental/integrative dimension to the AIP model and provides the EMDR therapist with a map of the client’s associative processing and guidelines for attuned therapeutic interweaves facilitating the dialectical/integrative movement. The Resource Connection Envelope (RCE) which accesses unique dialectically matched resources will be also demonstrated and practiced.
