EMDR therapy with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

Description

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a bio-psycho-socio-cultural disorder that includes genetic, neural brain anomalies, traumatic experiences, and development of dysfunctional beliefs that can be learnt from others and from the environment. The current empirical research supports the utilisation of a specific form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Exposure and Response Prevention) however not all clients respond well to this intervention. This presentation will consider how EMDR Therapy can be used with this client group.
