Overcoming attachment-related treatment impasses

Description

This workshop features a series of three interventions that can be helpful in working with clients whose parents fell short in some important way. The interventions are simple, structured, and scripted. Participants will be able to implement any of the interventions with their clients with no further training. 1. Guided visualization to develop/enhance secure attachment status. 2., For clients who might otherwise block processing due to fear of becoming too angry at the parent, a “parent protector” container. 3. Guiding the client to engage in a resolution conversation with a dead parent –whether or not the parent is actually dead.
