Effects of ego-state therapy and EMDR on children with dissociative disorder

Description

This study examined the combined effects of ego-state therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) on children diagnosed with dissociative disorders. Through clinical case analysis, the authors explored how integrating these two therapeutic approaches could improve emotional regulation, memory integration, and behavioral stability. The findings suggest that ego-state therapy helps establish internal safety and communication among dissociated parts, while EMDR facilitates trauma processing. Together, they offer a promising framework for treating complex trauma in children.
