Hold on to love, not the loss: EMDR and grief

Description

The death of someone important to us is experienced almost universally over the course of a lifetime. While most experiences of grief naturally ease over time, some people’s grief becomes ‘stuck’ or refuses to go away many years after the loss. Given the similarities between grief and trauma eg. avoidance behaviors and intrusive images, EMDR can be used effectively to treat complex or prolonged grief. This workshop will focus on specific considerations and protocols for using EMDR with grief, practical strategies and an engaging activity with fictional case studies.
