Description

Developed by Francine Shapiro, the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has obtained more scientific confirmations than any other method used in the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress, as a clinical approach supported by solid epistemological bases and evidence-based results.

The model on which EMDR is based allows to adopt more adaptive behaviors favoring the detachment from the patient of the symptoms typical of post-traumatic stress disorder, such as the intrusiveness of thoughts and memories, the behaviors of stimuli related to the event, perceived as a danger. This book brings the professional closer to this technique and helps him to identify the focus of his curiosity, the answer to his doubts or the confirmation of his good work.
