Description

Prince Harry closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and tapped his shoulders. Left right, left right, left right. A simple but powerful rhythm that unlocked his brain’s natural ability to heal. For many, watching Harry and Oprah discuss this was their first exposure to EMDR, the trauma therapy taking the world by storm. As an artist, poet, and EMDR therapist, creating this collection of EMDR-inspired art and poetry felt somehow inevitable. It marks the convergence of my creative passions, and pays tribute to an approach that has been transformative for millions. When I began the writings and illustrations for this book, I hoped they would resonate with the experiences, emotions, and ideas of those on the front lines of hope and healing… other EMDR therapists and their clients. But somewhere along the way, it became clear that this was a book for everyone, because the themes contained within its pages tap into a shared humanity… A world in which we all feel pain, all need healing, and all long to be loved.
