Developing a narrative to help children resolve trauma

Description

In this half-hour presentation, Joan will outline the basics of how to develop a healing narrative for a child. Prior to the sesion, participants may want to choose a child for whom they want to develop a narrative and consider the following questions: What are the child's strengths? What issue or trauma do they want to address with the narrative? What about the trauma is still confusing for the child? What are the child's negative cognitions? What positive cognitions would they prefer for the child to have? What cognitive interweaves would be helpful? What would life be like when the child resolves the trauma? Joan will explain how to use EMDR along with the healing narrative to help resolve trauma.
