El trauma es definido como cualquier situación estresante en el ser humano que escapa a los mecanismos de afrontamiento de la persona que lo vive. En las investigaciones previas estudiadas, se observa una correlación de hasta un 41% entre los eventos traumáticos y los trastornos de consumo de sustancias. Esta relación nos hace pensar que abordando el trauma con profundidad así como los eventos desencadenantes de éste, podrá favorecer la abstinencia y posterior rehabilitación en una persona con trastorno de consumo de sustancias tóxicas.
El presente trabajo aborda el tratamiento psicológico con un joven con trastorno de consumo de sustancias que presenta eventos traumáticos en su infancia no abordados en sus tratamientos de intervención previos y que tienen una relación significativa con el consumo de alcohol, cocaína y cannabis y su posterior abuso y desarrollo de dicho trastorno.
El tratamiento que proponemos para el caso que presentamos muestra dos objetivos de intervención: abordar y profundizar en el trauma que el joven padeció en su infancia y su integración y asimilación psicológica a través del tratamiento con EMDR, favoreciendo el reconocimiento de sus recursos personales lo que redundará en el segundo foco de intervención que será la deshabituación y rehabilitación física y psicológica del trastorno de consumo de sustancias que el joven tiene.
Trauma is defined as any stressful situation in the human being that escapes the coping mechanisms of the person who experiences it. In previous research studies, a correlation of up to 41% is observed between traumatic events and substance use disorders.
This relationship makes us think that addressing the trauma in depth, as well as its triggering events, may favor abstinence and subsequent rehabilitation in a person with a substance use disorder. The present work deals with the psychological treatment of a young person with a substance use disorder who presents traumatic events in his childhood not addressed in his previous intervention treatments and which have a significant relationship with the consumption of alcohol, cocaine and cannabis and their subsequent abuse. and development of said disorder.
The treatment that we propose for the case that we present shows two intervention objectives: addressing and deepening the trauma that the young person suffered in his childhood and his integration and psychological assimilation through treatment with EMDR, favoring the recognition of his personal resources, which It will result in the second focus of intervention, which will be the detoxification and physical and psychological rehabilitation of the substance use disorder that the young person has.
