Using EMDR therapy to treat dissociation - Adapting your practice for teleHealth while maintaining your health

Description

In this webinar, Catherine and Sarah formulate the distress associated with the pandemic from an EMDR perspective, and develop antidotes to these stressors using adaptive information theory and strategies from polyvagal therapy. They present on how to formulate complex trauma and dissociation in clients who are impacted by pandemic stress from a neurobiological perspective. The focus of this webinar is on preparation techniques to move clients with complex trauma towards being able to tolerate the standard EMDR protocol, including the progessive approach to EMDR and Sarah's Befriending Parts intervention. The strategies here are informed by practice-based evidence and clinical observations from EMDR Therapists working with dissociation. Topics include specific techniques for resolving dissociation and containing pandemic-related anxiety using EMDR Therapy and isntructions on how to apply these safely via Telehealth
