Este artículo cuenta una historia que termina con una de las experiencias profesionales más emocionantes que he vivido, un ensayo clínico titulado: “Impacto del tratamiento con EMDR sobre los síntomas somáticos en pacientes con fibromialgia y trastorno de estrés postraumático”. En este texto pretendo compartir esa experiencia. No es el artículo “académico” donde comunicamos los magníficos resultados con un análisis estadístico que confirma hipótesis. Ese va por otro lado en otra publicación. No, aquí solo pretendo plasmar lo que ha supuesto para mí tanto a nivel profesional como personal. Que ha sido mucho. Y no va a ser fácil ponerlo todo en palabras. Aun así, voy a hacerlo lo mejor que pueda. Y a ser posible, lo más breve también.

This article tells a story that ends with one of the most exciting professional experiences I have lived, a clinical essay titled "Impact of treatment with EMDR of the somatic symptoms in patients with fibromyalgia and post-traumatic stress disorder". In this text I aim to share this experience. It is not the "academic" article where we present the incredible results with a statistical analysis that confirms the hypothesis. That one goes elsewhere, in a different publication. No, here I just want to convey what it has meant to me both on a professional and on a personal level, which won't be easily put into words. Even so, I will attempt to do it as best - and as briefly - as I possibly can.
