All ages and stages: Group EMDR therapy for children, adolescents, and families
Description
Clinicians, agency administrators, and public health advisors for mental health want to ensure treatment for all who need it, but present need is outpacing limited resources. Traditionally, mental health care is delivered individually, though for some populations or issues group work is used. Group models of EMDR Therapy, an evidenced-based treatment, allow more youth and families to receive treatment in a way that is flexible and can be implemented with various age groups, generations, cultures, clinical issues, and settings. Clinician skill and confidence will grow as strategies and guidelines for implementing group protocols with children, adolescents, and families are presented.
