Ships merging in the night

Description

With the advent of COVID both the training and practice of EMDR has moved online presenting challenges for the therapist in setting up the therapeutic space, administration of BLS, and maintaining their presence, connection, and promoting shared “generative” experience so vital to the promoting a good therapy outcomes session to session. This presentation will explore these questions from the experiential position of the EMDR therapist as they move through all 8 phases from a relational perspective balanced and informed by an energy psyche perspective. We will explore the complementary processes of BLS and energy tapping both in terms of function and adaptability. 5 standard energy psych taping sequences that are compatible to EMDR work will be offered from the perspective of function, therapist discretion, and client anthropological choice both as function and utility of BLS and moving chi. Participants will be guided through “experiential practice” of these taps to strengthen “already held good experience of self” by engaging in the 4 elements exercise, safe calm state, good experience, and positive/steady beliefs about oneself. Practice applications will be explored including parts work, interweaves, setting up ritual, complementing with other approaches like breath, movement, flash, and how these five tapping protocols can be used by TRN’s and in disaster recovery work in the field.
