Elevating EMDR early intervention through rapid response teams and group format

Description

Trauma is a domestic and global issue. There have been more school shootings in the United States in 2023 since 2008 when they started recording school shootings. Between genocides, wars, and natural disasters, the globe is in need of quick, effective and collaborative rapid responses from mental health care providers after crises. HAP and TRNs are designed for just that purpose and they need to know all the tools and resources available to them to be as effective as possible. With over 70 published research articles on the topic, this presentation will highlight a few specific research articles on the effectiveness of utilizing the ASSYST treatment interventions, EMDR-PRECI and EMDR-IGTP-OTS in a rapid response scenario. Case study examples will be given as well to help the attendees understand how to put these interventions into action, following our symptom-trajectory, stepped-care approach. This presentation will share research articles and case studies on EMDR Early Intervention utilization. It will also teach clinicians how to integrate EMDR Early Intervention protocols into their practice by: Describing the protocol’s timely application to mental health professionals. Establishing screening processes to identify at-risk individuals, emphasizing collaboration with trauma-informed care providers and TRNs. Streamlining access to EMDR services and crisis interventions in fast and effective ways. Explaining how to monitor outcomes and prioritizing early intervention to enhance trauma prevention and recovery. The target audience includes TRNs and EMDR therapists who want to provide Early EMDR Interventions either domestically or globally after man-made and natural disasters.
