Vietnam veterans' treatment programs using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing

Description

EMDR has been incorporated into the treatment programs of a number of VA Medical Centers. This symposium will explore the use of EMDR in the treatment of Vietnam combat veterans in both in- and out-patient settings. Each PTSD program has used EMDR in a different manner, and added new information to the growing body of knowledge regarding EMDR as a treatment for combat-related issues. The panel consists of Directors of PTSD programs who will give both clinical accounts and existing research data on the present use of EMDR by their staffs for the treatment of severe, chronic PTSD.
