A case study of EMDR and imagery-based cognitive behavior therapy which took effect on reprocessing anger from traumatic memory

Description

This case study explores the combined use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and imagery-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to address unresolved anger stemming from traumatic memory. Kondo presents a therapeutic process in which the client’s emotional reactivity—particularly anger—was targeted through structured imagery techniques and bilateral stimulation. The intervention facilitated the reprocessing of trauma-related emotions, leading to improved emotional regulation and reduced psychological distress. The study highlights the synergistic potential of integrating EMDR with imagery-focused CBT in trauma treatment.
